Full-time Talent Communications Specialist

at OneSteel in Sydney

Are you OneSteel’s Knight in Shining Armour?
We need a fearless crusader to woo the beautiful Talent.

Last seen locked away in our deep (but new) database, you’ll identify Talent by segmenting audiences so you can communicate in a targeted way. Often coy and noncommittal, courting Talent will rely on developing value propositions that inspire and resonate with Talent’s needs and motivations. Sometimes Talent wants different things - so you’ll seek to understand and tailor your approach.

Winning Talent’s heart will require relentless pursuit and all of your exceptional writing charm. Once you attract Talent’s interest, you’ll have to compete to keep it. A meaningful, lasting engagement can only be created through regular, quality communication. If you can dream up endless ways of surprising and delighting Talent through heartfelt messages, you’ll be on the way to your ultimate goal of getting Talent over the threshold.

Supporting your mission will be trusty sidekick, Employment Brand. Brand has been successful, but isn’t always maximised. You’ll influence peers and leaders to trust that Brand helps get the job done; and show them that a new and more tailored Brand is possible and best for some missions. When Brand needs creative development, you’ll partner with agencies to achieve this.

You’ll direct the activities of Brand in a range of scenarios online and offline. Wherever Brand is in play, you are keeping a watchful eye. Brand is increasingly deployed into the Social Media wilderness, and will need guidance using your knowledge of this territory. You’ll ensure Brand is at all times meeting defined strategic objectives in this terrain; not wandering aimlessly or just sitting pretty.

Along for the journey is a merry band of professional recruiting team-mates, whom you’ll coach and assist to write job ads, so they too can woo their perfect match.

To be successful in your quest, you’ll possess:

A relevant degree in Communications, Journalism, PR or Marketing
2 years experience copywriting in a communications role
Demonstrated success in strategic communication and measuring it
A collaborative working style and powers of influence
Solid understanding of digital and social media
Creative and conceptual thinking ability
Planning and organising skills
Strong attention to detail

You’ll be passionate about Talent, though specific experience in recruitment is not required. If you’re a marcomms professional, journalist or PR, or digital editor - this role opens the door to strategic and rewarding work in the growing Talent Acquisition Marketing and Employment Branding niche.

Build a great reputation for you and our team by adding a lot of value, fast, to our business; and enjoy the benefits and development opportunities that a leading company the size and stature of OneSteel can offer.

If you think you’re up to the challenge, we’d love to receive your application at http://www.tinyurl.com.au/bva by 2 July.
